Anyone? Anyone have an idea as to how to stop this without a gun? Because .. seriously, we may be getting close.
Last night I lined the entire length of our counters with aluminum foil. Because I read that cats hate it. HA! Our cats didn’t seem to mind. I still found the tell tale signs of kitty trespassing this morning. Just like any other day. I am so beyond frustrated, too. I know there are sprays out there and mouse like trap things to scare them away. I may move on to that next. They get fed a ton so I don’t understand their reasons for going through all of our stuff. Like last night I caught the one on the counter licking my crisco bottle! Licking OIL! And this isn’t the first time she’s took a liking to oil. The last time I didn’t have the cap on tight enough and you can guess what happened next. I had oil all over my kitchen and a very greasy cat for a week +.
Grrrrrr. Maybe she has an odd taste for things that aren’t supposed to be edible? Like PICA for cats? If I fed her anymore cat food she’d need nuphedragen and her own kitty treadmill to work the blubber off. Fat kitties aren’t healthy kitties, unfortunately.
The little garden we started on our balcony is doing ok. I won’t say great because the broccoli seems to be fussy. It’s not being cooperative at all and I’m honestly about ready to give up on it and maybe use that pot for something else. It’s a nice, large pot. Surely there’s gotta be something out there that would love to hang out with us for the summer? Of course I’ll do my research first. Maybe there’s a way to save this wayward veggie? I’ll hit up Swagbucks (new obsession) and see what search results I get. I love SB! I can usually find just what I am looking for without having to pass over a lot of ads for odd things like hcg diet protocol. The winning isn’t too bad either. I’m close to being able to cash out for my next gift card.
As for the better performers, we’ve been able to eat our first strawberries. They are TINY but it’s cool to know that we grew them.
I woke up this morning feeling like I actually SLEPT and that was awesome. I never have found the best sleeping pill so sleep is always something I struggle with. I wake up a lot, sleep very lightly and take forever to actually fall asleep. Needless to say, most of the time I walk around like a zombie struggling to get through my day. blah.
But I am glad I got some sleep because we have plans today. This morning we went to a Lowe’s kids workshop where they built a bird feeder. So much fun! They really enjoyed it and it wasn’t too hard to do. I am going to take them next Saturday as well as the one after that. It’s a great free activity if you’re wanting fun on a budget.
Then later this afternoon we have a birthday party to go to. I’m not a huge fan of parties because it always means being around people I don’t know too well, dealing with screaming kids and goody bags filled with junk afterwards. BUT I know Aubree will have a blast so I’ll do it for her. Gotta suck it up. lol
Tomorrow I am hoping we’ll just be relaxing. The weather looks to be quite shitty anyway so we might as well stay home and enjoy our Sunday. Weekends seem to go by so quickly. It’s such a bummer.
The hubby had all last week off for his leave period. That was nice but I really enjoy getting back to our routine. It’s so much harder to clean and get everyday things accomplished with one more person hanging about. You know? I am sure other people feel the same way. Especially if you’re like me and very set in your ways. So that’s what this week will be all about. CLEAN! I’m in the mood to get things super sparkling again now that I’m almost alone for part of the day. No screwing around on Facebook or browsing marc jacobs handbags online. Nope. I’ve got a kitchen waiting for me and then after that lots of vacuuming. I love my dog to pieces but he keeps dragging in all kinds of junk from outside. I think we have more mulch inside than we do in the landscaped areas outdoors. ;(
I wish a few of the companies that mail me junk every day would realize that they are just wasting money on catalog printing when it comes to me. Who orders from catalogs? I mean, I’m sure some people do but I am more of an online shopper. I rarely use catalogs for any shopping. Sometimes quick reading material if I am severely bored and out of books. But yeah. Stop sending them, please! My poor recycle bin is full.
Off to find out how to get off of these mailing lists. Like. NOW.
I used to be THE person to go to when it came to coupons. But I kind of slacked off over the last few months and I totally got out of the habit. Today I ended that dry spell and went out to see what I could get. I ended up doing pretty good, saving around $59 total after coupons. Not too shabby. That was 3 different stores and I did spend a little more than I had wanted at Target but .. eh. You gotta do what you gotta do sometimes. I can be quite picky when it comes to certain brands and today I wanted my Scrubbin Bubbles! There’s never any good sales on that stuff. And Black Friday sales never includes things you REALLY need so I’ll take what I can get.
Now if I can keep myself away from the stores for a bit. I feel like I have been in the grocery store too many times in the last couple of weeks. ugh.
I have spent the majority of my evening feeling pretty yucky. It’s something I’ve consumed, I’m sure. That’s the fun thing about gastric bypass surgery. You spend the rest of your life never knowing what will make you sick. One thing works one day, the next all bets are off. I seriously don’t know why I did it. I mean, I do know why. It’s somewhat better for me in the end. I did lose weight. I’m still smaller than I used to be. But the side effects. UGH! I took a lot of diet pills before I had the surgery but the side effects of hydroxycut and a few others were never as bad as this. I can deal with my heart racing but always feeling like poo? Yeah .. not fun.
Off to lay around and moan about my life some more. lol
It’s so ridiculously gorgeous outside today! I was a little miffed at the idea of 80 degree temps already but when there’s a nice breeze blowing I can totally deal with it. I’ve even sent the kids outside, by themselves, for a bit today. That’s always a nice change. I just started doing that recently. I used to hover over them but now that they are old enough to pretty much behave themselves I am feeling better about it. Plus the play area is right outside our building, we live in a great neighborhood, it’s quiet, etc … I feel ok. Now if I could just get them to not get all filthy every time they go out. They have a habit of playing in the rubber mulch that’s all around the area. That stuff is disgusting! It’s like playing with old dirty tires. Maybe I should look for some run down play clothes at the Goodwill for these days? I’m sick of spending so much money on cute, trendy urban clothing and then end up with junk. It’s too expensive!
I won a goody the other day on Facebook (a fan page for an Esty seller I adore) and I am waiting on it to get here. It could get melty with it being so warm here lately so if I don’t get my butt down there ASAP it’ll turn into a mess in my mailbox. eek. But of course when you’re waiting on the mail it never comes. This will likely be a day when it comes later in the afternoon / evening. grrr.

A couple of weeks ago at the movies I was able to sit through the trailer for “Date Night”, starring Tina Fey and Steve Carell. You can see the video trailer on YouTube.com below:
Too funny!! I don’t know about you but I think it looks hilarious. Of course there is that chance that all of the funny parts have been condensed into the trailer. But I will definitely take my chances. I love Tina Fey and Steve Carell so this is like a double bonus in my world. AND I adore comedies. I don’t go to the movies to be put into deep thought. I just want to laugh and forget about the rest of the world. I am sure that is the same as most people. The movies are such a great escape from mommy and wife time. I honestly go by myself quite a lot, too.
This movie basically centers around this couple who’s weekly date night turns into a major fiasco. Their world goes from boring to bizarre it seems. As one half of a couple who experiences that same old, same old boredom I’m enticed. Now if I could get myself a babysitter so the hubby and I could have a date night of our own! That seriously hasn’t happened in a couple of years now but I do have some friends who have volunteered their time if I choose to actually go through with it. I just have to cut that darn cord first, you know? You would think that after almost 6 years I would be ready.
The Date Night Movie opens on April 9, 2010. So get your sitters, grab the popcorn money and go!
