I am most comfortable when my surroundings are neat and tidy. If I know there’s something to do I always feel a bit off, annoyed, irritated, anxious .. you get it. So I’ve really, REALLY been trying to keep things absolutely sparkling around here the last few days. But honestly? I am starting to just feel run down and exhausted instead of super happy. I’m thinking that anxious and irritated may be a little better than the current feelings.
UGH!
Why do kids insist on being such pigs? Especially mine? They have lived with OCD, clean freak mom since the time they were born. There’s no reason for them to ever think that leaving things all over the floor is acceptable. It isn’t and never has been. Yet I am constantly picking up their crap. The response I love most when I ask them to pick things up?
“It’s not mine!”
Uh, yeah. Nothing is ever mine and I am still picking it up. Kind of unfair if you ask me.

I’m not one to enter a lot of online contests because frankly my luck is not there. Ever. It really gets me down sometimes but once in awhile I’ll be very tempted to try yet again, like today. I just entered a contest at Temptation is Beautiful. The prizes being given away are a daily tempting beauty basket (sounds awesome) and a trip to Las Vegas (even better) as the grand prize. If you win the trip you can take 3 of your friends and you receive $1500 in spending money. Pretty cool. Though honestly I’d be pretty thrilled with the beauty basket. It’s sponsored by KAO brands and they are behind some of my favorite products (and some of yours as well, I’m sure) like these shown below:
If you check out the website you can also take a fun little quiz to find out what your temptress temperature is. Mine scored at “Just Right”.
Glad I’m not too hot or too cold. Just right sounds fine with me! I wouldn’t call myself an overly hot kind of woman. LOL That whole mom things brings me down a huge not in the hotness department. If you take the quiz, leave me a comment! I’d love to know what you scored. Also, enter the contest! What’s there to lose? Nothing but a few seconds of your time. Just remember, this contest is for US residents only.

Twitter has lost my attention over the last few months in favor of just going straight to Facebook. But I am seriously trying to change that. I feel bad that I’ve just dropped off the face of the planet when I used to keep in touch with quite a few twitter friends.
Hopefully those friends are still around and haven’t suffered the same sad fate that I have. Total technology ADD. LOL
I LOVE this primer. I have found that although my skin is blotchy (seriously, I need something to remove acne scars) the foundation covers it all with this primer applied beforehand. Plus I end up with far less breakouts than I used to with other products. LOVE. But I am however finding it to be a little expensive and QVC stopped selling the size I loved. I guess I’ll have to start shopping around to see what I can find.
The oldest had her girl scout meeting at My Gym last night. They all participated in an hour long class and siblings were allowed to join in. That was a blessing since I was stuck bringing the boy along with us. He had a BLAST. I think he had more fun than his sister. I couldn’t believe how excited he was about it. Now I am thinking that I may have to look into buying a membership. There’s actually a location right across the street from us so it would definitely be doable. He loves the exercise and I love to see him (and her) doing it because it’s just a good thing. Being healthy never goes out of style and it’s good practice for adulthood. I don’t want them ending up on cholesterol supplements in the future if I can help it. And any other medication for that matter.
I am once again kind of feeling like I need to at least try and lose a little bit of weight. I just don’t have the motivation. I know how much better I felt when I was smaller than I am now but at the same time … UGH. I wish there were magic pills instead of herbal diet pill and other gimmicks that never work for me.
I need ideas to exercise at home. I can go out and walk with the kids and stuff but I never feel like that helps and they rarely want to just walk. So it has to be more at home than anything. BUT it has to be quiet since I live upstairs. I can’t exactly do jumping jacks over my neighbors, or crazy kicking and stuff. You know? So if anyone has an ideas, let me know! I’d love to hear them.
I’ll admit that I don’t take my kids to their yearly check ups. Not since the baby days. But we had to do the 4 year ones because that’s the one to prep for school and you know I am ALL about sending the youngest off to school. So we did that the other day and surprisingly it went fantastic! He was so well behaved, cooperative and thankfully he looks to be in good working order. While I worried that he’s too small because he doesn’t EAT anything (and I’ve contemplated vitamins and weight gain supplement to help), he actually isn’t small at all. He’s huge! At least compared to the charts. He’s at 97% for weight and off the charts for height. I grow them big and strong.
And I’ll toot my own horn over and over again. I’m very pleased with the fact that I formula fed my children and they are glowing, healthy little people. They have never had any major illnesses, few colds and not one ear infection ever. Nothing aside from a tummy bug once a year. But we all seem to get that. So there .. all of those breastfeeding crazies who made me feel inferior. You can kindly suck it!
Since the hubby is supposed to be gone all summer I decided we would start a small garden on our balcony, in containers of course. It’s a great way to focus on something and also learn. The kids are in that stage where just about everything is a learning experience and unlike the toddler years they actually UNDERSTAND a great deal. So it’s super fun to see them get all into it.
Last weekend we planted broccoli, brussels sprouts, strawberries, carrots, radishes and basil. I’m thinking about adding a tomato plant or two to the mix as well. Oh and I ordered some Tom Thumb pea plant seeds as well as green onions. At this point I don’t really know what will do well and what won’t. Container gardening seems to be a hit or miss thing. But I’m hoping we’ll at least end up with a little something as the summer progresses. We’ll see!
Any tips? Anything you’ve grown in containers that did fabulously? Our balcony gets full sun throughout most of the day, just an FYI.

I am so excited to hear that “Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel” is finally coming to DVD, Blu-ray and Digital Download on March 30th, 2010 for some more mischief. The first movie was absolutely a joy to watch. But this one is special for me. This movie marked the first time ever that I took both kids to the theater, alone. No Daddy to save me if things went bad. How did it go? Actually it went pretty well. The movie was so adorable and funny that I didn’t really have to get on the kids at all. They sat, watched, ate popcorn and laughed. Occasionally they laughed so much that the snorting and gasping could be heard throughout the theater. My daughter especially loved the addition of the Chipettes and the music the girls “sang” in the movie. She’s going to freak when I surprise her with the DVD so we can have an at home movie night. I’m just happy to have yet another movie to add to our collection that I don’t have to question in any way. I think I’ll go ahead and buy it now online so that I don’t have to worry about picking up in store. This version of the movie is a Double DVD Pack that includes “The Squeak Along” Bonus Disc, with more music, mayhem and all-new singalongs. So much fun for the kiddos .. and the adults.

And if you want to get into More Munk Mayhem, check out FoxFamilyFlicks.com for more fun.

Another week or so alone. Woohoo! Come stalk me if you want.
I hate to admit that I slept so ridiculously well last night. I almost felt guilty. I always miss the hubby but at the same time there’s nothing like a bed to yourself, sleeping with the tv on and not having to cook anything extravagant for dinner.
