New Moon

I won’t spoil it for anyone who hasn’t seen it but OMG!!! I LOVED IT!!! I love it when a movie plays out on the screen the same way it played out in my mind. This was one of those cases. Now I am all excited for the next one but of course I’ll have to now read Eclipse. lol Yes, I am one of those people. I kind of slack off until the movie comes around and then I hurry to read it. I just don’t have the time to sit and read constantly anymore, unfortunately. I am also one of those people who has to have everything pretty much silent with no distractions. Or else I just come out with nothing remembered or comprehended. That is why I think I’ll shut down the old blog for the night, grab one of my heated blankets and maybe read for a few minutes before bed. The kids actually sacked out pretty early for once so I’m freeeeee. :)

Facebook Addiction

I am so addicted to Facebook and all of the games that are available. OMG. Every week it’s something new, I swear. In between the ads for cheap insurance and other junk on the side of the page I noticed a game called “Cafe World” … and now I am hooked on that, too. It’s kind of ridiculous how much time can be wasted this way. I’m not even going to try and add up the time I’ve spent the last few months. ugh.

But hey, it could be worse, right? There’s always heroin, alcohol, cupcakes. At least Facebook isn’t terribly damaging. haha

Holy Turkey Day Chaos!

I had the bright idea today to go to the commissary. On a weekend, right before a holiday. Stoooooopid. Totally stupid. I couldn’t even get down some of the aisles (love ignorant people on their cell phones, blocking the darn path) and because I had Will with me I couldn’t really navigate the way I would normally. You know, all cut throat and bitchy. haha So I had to do what I could to get what was on my list and get the heck out as fast as I could. Thankfully I did just that. I managed to find most of my Thanksgiving menu ingredients on special end caps and displays. Yay for those commissary employees and their pimping of seasonal items. Otherwise I’d be Stovetop Stuffing-less and without my beloved jellied cranberry sauce. ;)

Let there be light!

I’ll admit that we already have our Christmas lights up. They are hung outside and everything but not yet lit. I am at least saving that part for after Thanksgiving. And I am only doing that because I know some people get their panties all in a wad over the tacky-ness of decorating for one holiday before the next is finished. Me? I could care less. I have the tree up as well and it finally got decorated today. It’s very pretty if you ask me and I know it’s early but .. oh well. :) It’s kind of hard to not want to decorate when the stores have had christmas cards out for almost 6 months. It gives you a lot of time to get amped up and unfortunately that’s probably why I am so sick of the decor by December 26th. lol

When I browse clothing online and come across super cute tops like those from Free People, it just makes me sad. ugh! I want to still lose more weight someday but even if I did that I know I’ll never fit into cute stuff like that. Never. Ever. Not unless I come into major bank to pay for the plastic surgery .. and we all know that will never happen.

It’s depressing. It really takes away from ever really wanting to lose any more, you know? If you can’t get to where you want then why even try? I’m really struggling with that.

Respiratory Guard

I recently received a package containing Respiratory Guard, a flu cure. The makers of this product requested a review and of course I obliged. I love receiving items like this and giving my absolute honest opinion.

These lozenges are made with Elderberry extract and come in a 14 count package. The box states that these are rich in bioflavonoids and this should help support respiratory health. What a perfect time to receive such an item to review! We’re in the midst of the yucky cold and flu season so I was ecstatic to maybe receive a little bit of help.

Upon first taste I will admit that they offended my poor tastebuds a bit but I ignored that and focused on the fact that they were supposed to help – and sometimes you can’t get hung up on the taste. I had actually just came down with a bit of an illness and though I don’t know these lozenges are directly related, I got over it quite quickly! I’m normally a mess for most of the week or more when I’m sick but I really bounced back nicely. Though I wasn’t impressed with the taste I wouldn’t hesitate to use Respiratory Guard again when I start to feel something coming on – or any other time. They would be great as a defense system as well. I’m really big on adding extra supplements during troublesome times of the year so these will be put in my stock of weapons against the flu. :)

Public Safety Degree

If you have ever thought about getting a public safety degree you may want to look into Lewis University. I was sent some information about this university recently. They offer flexible online courses that won’t interfere with your family or work life. They are regionally accredited and best of all they offer affordability. With tight times we’re all looking for that, right? While you may not think of the public safety arena as a hot market to jump into, it is. Public safety is in demand all over this country from working with city management on a small level to the highest level of government and homeland security and disaster response.

So Shady!

I’ll admit that I am a little bit of an addict when it comes to joining book clubs and dvd clubs. I’ll join, get my freebies and fulfill my commitment in no time. Normally it’s all done very easily and it’s pretty great getting so many books and DVD’s for basically nothing with only a few to buy later on. But my goodness, I joined a children’s book club and it’s been nothing but a hassle. I have around $80 worth of charges on my account, lots of shipment statements and nothing has arrived. We’re talking back to June!! I’m just disgusted. Because of course they will expect me to pay that and I am SO not going to. I can’t pay for a service or product that was never delivered.

UGH!

I’ll be getting dark circles staying up thinking about this tonight, I’m sure. I hate dealing with customer service and fighting people for things. But I also hate spending money on things that I never received so I’ll just have to do it. Wish me luck. :(

Time’s a Flying!

Hello, November!

We had a fun little Halloween here filled with way too much junk. The kids had a blast and I think even the hubby and I had some fun ourselves. I’m so glad we’re over that hump and now rolling towards Thanksgiving and Christmas. As much as I love Halloween, even I was getting a little tired of the decor. Now to rip all of my stuff down outside to prepare for Christmas lights. Yes, I’m already thinking about it! I figure I’ll start in a couple of weeks. lol I’m a lunatic. :)

I just can’t get over how quickly time goes lately. It felt like it was just Monday and now we’re heading into Friday. I got to thinking yesterday that had the hubby’s schedule stayed the same we’d be preparing for a 7 month deployment in a couple of weeks. So thankful that was delayed and we’ll get to spend the holiday season together. We really lucked out. Instead we’ll be doing that in the spring and it will be for EIGHT months. Oh my lord .. I don’t even know how we’ll manage. I mean, I do. But I don’t. You know? I’m a pro but at the same time it just feels so daunting. Especially when someone made the comment recently that 8 months is “like more than half of the year!”. Yeah. I know. I had thought of that but I didn’t need the reminder. It is a hell of a long time but again, not so bad. It could be worse and it is for many other military families. So I’ll stop whining and think of the good things. Like money. I’m trying to tell myself that it will give us a good opportunity to pay down some debt. I was just a little disappointed when the deployment was delayed just because of that factor. I’m really looking forward to the extra cash and having one less mouth to feed. One of these days I’d like to erase the mistakes of my younger days by not having to pay so many other people every month. Seriously … ugh. Stupidity. If I had a time machine and the wisdom that I have now .. oh boy. We’d be in luck! :) I’d like to take that person that I was (that we both were) back then, stick our heads in an American Standard toilet and slam the seat down hard. Really hard. lol Pain equals wisdom, right?
