I woke up this morning thinking that I need a break. Of course I always feel like that, so what’s new? I just get so sick of being in the hamster wheel of life, doing the same thing day in and day out. I have a little OCD so I’m pretty set on schedules and routines but man .. it’s getting OLD! As for what I would prefer to be doing just about anything would do. I’ve never been one to like water or ships but even one of those Caribbean cruises would be awesome. I’ve been told that they are quite relaxing and fun. I don’t know if I could talk my husband into it though since he does spend a good portion of his life “cruising” with the Navy. But if I could get someone to watch the kids for a week (never ever going to happen) I’m sure he would be on that in no time flat. That sounds a lot like my ideal vacation anyway. Sunny locations, exploring new places, shopping in port and eating from buffets until I pop. ha! Oh and SLEEP! Lots of extra sleep. It couldn’t get any better than that. And honestly? Anything that doesn’t include people under the age of 18 would be awesome. I’m burnt out right now with minors. lol
Now to just wait another 13-14 years for the kids to move out. Then I’ll get my vacation!
It’s going to be a looong wait.

After all of the stress of trying to find the perfect puppy I have finally succeeded! As I likely mentioned I found a breeder north of Richmond with puppies. We went to see those puppies the day the hubby arrived home from his latest trip out to sea and we brought one of those puppies home.
This is Kaiser!
When we arrived at the breeder’s home I asked to see the boys immediately. There were 3 and 2 of them hid in the corner. This guy came after our feet right away and started romping with the kids. He wasn’t shy at all so he’s the lucky dog that went home with us. It was really cool to let the dog pick us instead of picking a dog. That’s something that I wouldn’t have been able to do had I stuck with the original breeder.
He is my DREAM dog. An 8 week old (now 9 weeks) AKC registered Miniature Schnauzer. Male. Black and Silver. I would have had to settle for less than that if I had gone with the original puppy I had placed a deposit on, the one that sadly didn’t make it. Though I’m sad for that breeder and the loss of her puppies, I have to say that this was meant to be for us. It’s neat how life works out for the best sometimes or most of the time.
Kaiser is awesome. He’s smart, playful, sweet and he’s very well behaved. He’s already learned so much and we’ve only had him since July 3rd. He plays fetch and he’s getting the housebreaking thing down. While I wish I could snap my fingers and be done with it I know it takes time.
The only negative is the puppy biting issues. Puppies like to gnaw on anything, including 5 and 3 yr olds. The kids are not too happy about that and they’ve kept their distance for the most part. He’s figured that out as well and has a lot of fun scaring them. We’ll have to work on that.
So if I’m quiet for a bit (like I usually am anyway lately) it’s because I’m outside, begging my puppy to “potty, go potty!” every couple of hours. Fun, fun, fun!
