Be Careful With My Ego

I really do not get people who go to message boards and ask for your opinion/advice/help and then get super pissy when it’s not exactly what they want to hear. Um, hello?! Public forum .. you’ll get a mixed bag and you should know that. If you ask how to change a light bulb you’ll also get replies on which brand works best, who to hire to do it for you, and “what’s a light bulb?”. That’s the way it goes.

I wish people would just stamp a disclaimer at the end of their post:

Please, only reply with what I want to hear – kisses, clouds, rainbows, puppies and sunshine. Thank You!

This woman was asking what people thought about having babies after gastric bypass. You know, experiences, etc. I can answer that, I’ve done it twice! So I replied, but made sure to mention that she should make sure she’s at her goal weight before even thinking about trying to conceive. I’ve been there, done that. I know how a baby can really throw everything off weight wise. My ass is still showing the damage from baby #2 after 2 years. But instead of thanking me for the very valid advice I gave, she was a biatch about it and insisted that she was in the right place to start trying and she only asked for experiences, not advice. She’s good to go, though her ticker that stated that she was 6 pounds into a 50+ pound goal leads me to believe otherwise. Whatever.

Rain Rain Go Away!

Remind me to never look into landscaping as a career – the poor slaves are out there working in the pouring rain right now. I can’t even imagine how awful that is. On one hand I can admire them for getting the job done, rain or shine.. but on the other? That sucks. :(

It’s so dark and gloomy today and also muggy. If it weren’t already raining, you’d be wet anyway with sweat and humidity. It’s been like this for days. You’ll get a peek of sun and then, bam, it’s pouring. I’m not a fan of hot, sweaty rain. I prefer the cool kind. The kind that would draw you to your patio to enjoy. Someday I’d love to have a nice outdoor sitting area for days like that with an outdoor fireplace to keep warm.

Sneak Peek

The kids were in bed by 8:30 last night so I had lots of extra time on my hands before my own bedtime. I used that to find episodes of the upcoming season of Weeds, and I was very successful!! I found the first 4 episodes, and downloaded them via uTorrent. It’s so cool to be able to watch these before the season actually begins. Though now I will be bored the first 4 weeks of the season – nothing left to watch! Oh well. :)

I’m not a big tv watcher, though I seem to blog about it a fair bit lately. I do, however, get a little obsessive about watching every episode of a series once I find one that I do like. I haven’t had much to watch aside from Grey’s Anatomy since Six Feet Under ended. That was my all time favorite. It’s good to have something to look forward to now. Well, I mean life is good to look forward to, and the future and all that… but you know what I mean. :)

Viva Las Vegas

Of course we can’t even really think about it too much, but I would love to be able to go to Las Vegas this fall. Especially with PostieCon being held there. I mentioned it to my hubby a couple of times and he just gave me this glare as if he was saying “get real”. He thinks that sounds pretty dorky and not at all interesting, but then again, he’s not a blogger. He has no idea what a blog is. To add to that, he’s not a fan of casinos or gambling. He just doesn’t realize that there’s so much more to do out there. We could get a nice room and have a lot of fun. The MGM Grand has everything you could want in a Las Vegas hotel with entertainment for everyone. It’s not all about the sin and gambling. :)

You know you’re a geek when …

I totally had a dream last night that my page rank went up! How geeky is that?? I was so excited and I was bragging it up to other bloggers, who were oddly in the same room with me. Creepy. LOL I was a little disappointed to wake this morning and realize that none of it was true. Shoot, I’d be lucky if mine didn’t go down during the next update. I’m just not great at whoring our my blog.

I Love Him!

It’s been a great weekend! I slept in until after 10am, and then spent much of yesterday catching up on season 2′s episodes of “Big Love” using our ‘on demand’ cable feature while the hubby cleaned the bathrooms. You can’t ask for more than that!! Everything from the floors to the bathroom sinks are shining and sparkling with that wonderful clean feeling.

Later we went out to grab a few groceries (lobster & steak for dinner!!), and that was fun. The commissary actually wasn’t all that crowded and the kids behaved. The only bad part was when we left. It had started raining – HARD. ugh. :( By the time we got half way home, the road was flooding over. I’m scared to death of water, so it really freaked me out to be driving through it. We couldn’t even see much with the rain hitting us so hard. Just awful! I have never lived anywhere that flooded so easily. It’s crazy.

Today’s agenda will probably be just as relaxed as yesterday. Aubree asked me to bake a cake, a “Shrek” cake, so I am going to whip that up later. I’m just going to let her spray it with green frosting spray. I hope that’s she meant by “Shrek” because I certainly am in no mood to do the entire decorated cake thing.

Oh and maybe a nap as well today. :) I am going to fill my sleep tank up as much as I can. I love the weekend.

BORED BEYOND BELIEF

I have nothing to do! I don’t even know what to blog about, so I’m just rambling for the heck of it. I mean, I do have a few DVD’s that I haven’t even taken out of the wrappers yet, and books that haven’t been read. But I’m just not in a the mood for media. I watched the entire first season of “Big Love” on DVD yesterday, so I’m sort of tv’d out right now.

I’m actually so out of my mind bored that I may ask my hubby to play Scrabble, or maybe Monopoly! You know, the game that never ends! But that will just leave him pissed off (because I’ll win, I always do) and then that’s no fun. I can’t even roll around in that “I won, I won, I won” cheer because of his pouting. ack. I don’t even have anyone to call because they are either not in my time zone or they actually have a life and aren’t into chatting on a Friday night.

blah.

Maybe I’ll just go to bed early and hope I wake up with a little more creativity tomorrow?

It’s A Boy!

I am going to have a nephew this fall. My first, really. :) Of course the hubby’s half sister has two kids, but that’s a little different. It’s so strange knowing my “little” brother is going to be a father. Sort of sad if you ask me, but hey.. I’m trying to get over it.

Now I can buy cute little baby boy clothes again.. and toys… and adorable little accessories. I’m just a little excited about that!! Toddler clothes aren’t as tiny and cute. I just don’t get that thrill when I shop for my own munchkins.

She’s Losing It

I don’t know why, and you can call me crazy or weird, but I have a soft spot for Britney Spears. Not her music, or her “talent”. Nothing entertainment wise, really. I just feel like if we were both in the same room, we may relate a little. Not a lot as I’ve never flashed my baby maker in public and I’m not living the glamorous Hollywood life. But I think I could give her advice, and tell her that it’s ok to go a little nuts sometimes. You know? Getting married and having two kids so quickly is difficult. I had a hard time adjusting and I lived a very boring life before. I don’t think I’ve adjusted yet, even. Can you imagine being a pop star, with fans, and a hot body.. and then all of a sudden being “mom” and constantly criticized for everything you do? I get upset when my mother mentions small stuff. I can’t even begin to imagine what it’s like to have all of your short comings written about in tabloids.

I’m a member!

.. heh heh.. I said “member:) OK, ok, too many episodes of Beavis & Butthead as a teen.

We’re finally back from our afternoon of torture. Sam’s Club wasn’t too busy and we got our cards fairly quickly. The woman taking the photo had zero personality and didn’t tell me she was taking it – it looks like a mug shot. All I need is a DUI under my belt and I’ll be all set.

My son has decided that he wants to be a Walmart greeter someday, so he took the time out of our shopping trip to say hello to each and EVERY breathing human he ran into, and some of them were greeted more than once. He’s lucky that he’s at the age where it’s sort of cute. I don’t think he’ll get as many smiles if he’s still doing this at 13. I’m honestly not comfortable with how friendly he is. It worries me. He would walk off with anyone who gave him a smile. :( Totally opposite of his sister who still cringes and gives strangers dirty looks when they say hello.

He is pretty cute while shopping though. He likes to make sure the items on the shelf are straight, and then when we were passing the furniture, he just had to sit in a leather recliner. You know, to test it out. :) He sat there for a few moments, patted the arm like he thought it was the best of all of them and then headed out to straighten more shelves while we finished. He’s a terror sometimes, but I think I’ll keep him!

I did manage to get what I wanted and more. I couldn’t help myself and had to add to what I had them pull for me before I arrived. There’s something about bulk packages that gets me all excited. I can see I’ll have to restrain myself during future trips.
