Senior Day At Walmart

Oh my gosh. I don’t think it was, but you would almost believe that today. sheesh. I’m normally stuck at home during the day on weekdays, so I avoid all of the senior traffic, but today I had to grab a few things that I forgot last night and wow.. I’ll wait till evening next time! It was too much of a hassle dodging all of the old folks while they compare loaves of bread. Is that something you do when you hit that age bracket? I’ve noticed my Grandma doing the same. She’ll squeeze it, sniff it, check the price on 3 or 4 brands. Just buy the damn bread, and get out of my way.

Now I’ve got to check out all of the paid blogging opportunities and see if I can make some extra cash to pay for all of these groceries. I swear, I have spent twice as much as I normally do this week. yuck.

Killer House Fly

We had a house fly in here this morning, and I guess my kids have never really had any contact with flies. They see them outside, but the concept of one being in their home? It scared the shit out of them. Aubree wouldn’t go to the side of the room where he was buzzing around, and Will did, but then the fly landed on his knee and he freaked. Poor Bubby! The look of sheer terror on his face was priceless. He started shaking, and screaming.. like an alligator had grabbed his leg or something. I felt so bad, but I just cracked up laughing and couldn’t keep a straight face the entire time he was “telling” me about it in his little alien language. It was definitely one of those “you had to be here” moments. :)

Now that nasty fly is gone, thanks to Mommy, and the kids are napping. Well either napping or having quiet time. I’m not sure. I’ve decided that I don’t even care if they are awake, as long as they are quiet and in a bed. Aubree is in mine and Will is in his own. I hope Will is more on the side of napping than just quiet though. He’s a psycho if he hasn’t had his nap and I have plans for grocery getting later .. psycho babies don’t go over well at the commissary.

I still have a ton of things to accomplish around here, but I’m putting it off just a little. I figure if my parents leave their place tomorrow morning, they won’t be here until late afternoon or early evening at the earliest. So I’ll have tomorrow to get things done as well. Why pick the same toys up 10 times if I can just wait and do it once?! She was emailing me this morning and she seems really excited about coming. I’m glad about that. The last time we were in the same room we had a huge falling out. I didn’t speak to her for around 6 months. I didn’t even tell her when Will was born. She had to hear it all from other people. This was over 2 years ago. Then in that span of time some pretty crappy things went down between the hubby and I, and my parents really hated him for awhile. I never thought they would agree to be in the same room with him, but that seems to have blown over. Thankfully. I’m a little nervous about how everything will go, but feeling positive also. It’s always easier when I am in my own territory. It will be great to have them finally meet Will. It’s a shame they have missed all of the baby stuff, but he’s still sort of little I guess. :)

Canvas On Demand

Remember me mentioning the free 16×20 canvas I was receiving from Canvas On Demand? Well it arrived the day before yesterday! I had just ordered it a few days before – that’s speedy!! I am amazed at how quick and easy the entire process was.

I ended up choosing a photo of Aubree that I took a few months back at the botanical gardens. I edited it just a little before uploading it to their service. I’m not the best photographer, so it had to be straightened and lightened up a bit. To add even more to the photo, I also requested their “light brush strokes” technique and I am so glad that I did. Now that it is here, I am beyond pleased with my decision. It was a beautiful photo as is, but with the brush strokes, it’s simply stunning! It’s not overly done at all and you can just barely make out the strokes so it looks like a painting. My hubby was even amazed at the detail and how bright and beautiful the enlargement is. He doesn’t usually get excited over my purchases, so that was a very positive thing. :) Now my next task is finding a place to hang it. I want to be able to enjoy it everyday, so it’ll probably go on the wall near my desk since I spend so much time here anyway.

If you’re looking for a unique, and meaningful gift, this would be perfect! I already have ideas swirling in my head about a possible anniversary gift in the next few months. Wouldn’t it be great to enlarge a wedding photo, or your favorite photo as a couple as a gift for your spouse? These would be perfect for any gift – no reason needed. The quality and customer service is top notch. You really can’t go wrong.

GRRRR

I don’t know what the deal is, but I can’t view so many sites using FireFox, and then I tried IE, and it doesn’t work at all. I have these issues all of the time and I am getting sick of it. I guess I will have to restart shortly and see if that helps. If not? I might just throw my computer out the window. I don’t have the patience for this today. :(

Limbo

I hate… HATE living in a limbo and unfortunately military life is like that quite often. We’re still sorting through options for the next move (or hopefully NOT), and it makes me queasy just thinking about it. Especially when you can do nothing but sit and wait. We won’t have any more options to think about until next month and if all of those are Japan… nope, not doing it. I told him he could move there on his own. lol :) We couldn’t go there with 3 cats and I just think it’s wrong to say .. “oh, sorry kitty.. you’re the odd man out!”. That would be like throwing one of the kids out and the cats are so much quieter and better behaved.

……. blah

I’m feeling like .. crap. Plus the husband is irritating me beyond belief. I don’t know why, but he’s being a butt. :( Maybe it’s because I informed him that the bathroom definitely needed to be clean. Like now. Like tonight! I don’t think he was planning on doing that, but with company coming on Friday, it has to be done.

And I don’t do bathrooms. At least not while he is home. Yes, I have it good. I know this. So I’ll try not to complain too much.

I also don’t do laundry! I haven’t done any in maybe 2 years. It’s great!

But anyway .. back to ME. I feel yucko, need some midol, or something to knock me out. Is it bed time yet??

So Refreshed!

I love having my big old curtains up!! :) They make our bedroom beyond dark in the mornings, even more so than the window blinds ever did. It’s great to not be awake at 7am because of the sun scorching through my eyeballs. lol Now if I could get some black curtains for the kids bedroom, that would keep them asleep until.. noon? That would rock.

I wonder …

With all of the forced, military cruises the hubby has been on, I wonder if I could talk him into going on a real cruise sometime?? It’s something to think about. I’ve had a couple of family members take cruises in the past year and they just rave about how great it was. I want to do that too! I’m not a fan of boats, or water .. but maybe it wouldn’t be a big deal on such a large ship? I’ve been on an aircraft carrier for a day at sea, and I survived. ;)

What customer service should be!

I purchased one of those plans from Nutrisystem a month or so ago, thinking it would be the best thing EVER, but I was sorely disappointed when I received the package. A few of the foods I opened were spoiled. We’re talking furry little breakfast pastries. If the goal of their products is to gross the dieter out, thus making them not want to eat, it was accomplished! But anyway, I wrote to them and complained.. because I’m a complainer, you know. They initially wrote back and apologized and told me that they would forward my concerns to their quality control people. I thought that was it, and though I was a bit pissy about not being offered a free breakfast pastry or something to replace what I had bought, I moved on. I figured it would be a lesson learned, even if it was an expensive $200 one.

Well today I received another email asking me to please send them a list of what I wanted as they were sending me a free 28 day program. 28 breakfasts, 28 lunches, 28 dinners and 28 desserts – FREE. No worries of shipping back the damaged items. I am shocked! While I can’t guarantee I will like the stuff (because let’s face it folks.. it’s not the tastiest food), I’ll try it out. One of the issues I had with the first box was that it was a pre-chosen list of foods. Many of them that I received were not foods that I can eat due to my body’s special quirks. I wasn’t able to see what I was getting until it arrived. So maybe I’ll be better off this time around? We’ll see!

Am I The Only One?

I honestly don’t look at my stats, so when I see a blogger mention it, I’m just a little shocked. Do people really keep track of how many people come to their sites like that? Check IP’s, and how long folks sit on their sites, etc?? That would creep me out. Maybe that’s why I don’t look anymore. I did awhile back and it was just .. weird. While I’d like to have an idea of who those 3 people are that visit me daily (lol), I don’t know if I want to know how many times they do so, or how long they were here, etc.
