Comic Relief

Thank goodness for Aub and her ability to point out what’s comical and what isn’t. I don’t know what I would do without her. I’ve had a trying day (velcro boy strikes again) yet I made it through with her help. She’ll now point out ‘funnies’ for me.
“Baby funny, mommy”

or while watching her favorite show…

“Dat funny, mommy..funny!”

She amazes me. Though I wasn’t too keen on her behavior this evening, unfortunately. She got all pissy in the bath and bit Will’s hand. So hard that there was almost skin breakage. That’s definitely not ‘funny’.. not at all. :(

Blah.. must got finish dinner. We’re having bbq spare ribs in the crockpot, roasted potatoes, corn on the cob and fresh baked bread. How Betty Frickin Crocker am I? Huh? They better enjoy it because it’s cereal and ramen all weekend. heh

Throw me a frickin’ bone!

Vonage = DEVIL

Or well more like their customer service is the devil. Evil. Pure, evil. Since signing up in March I have wasted around a full day total trying to get answers to the whole number transfer thing. 5 months and it finally looked as if something was going to happen. I had a date, but it didn’t happen on that date. So I waited a few days and now I have NO phone service from Cox but the number isn’t showing up with Vonage yet. If you dial me up you’ll get a lovely ‘this # has been disconnected and is no longer in service’ message. I’m sure that will throw off our family, friends and that weird guy who keeps dialing us from the county jail. arrgh. I’ve called them 6 times in the last 24 hrs and it took that long to get a half assed answer of it ‘could be a normal part of the transfer process’. If we still don’t have phone service by NEXT Monday I can try to ask again.

&^%#@#^*( , bastards.

I have no issues with it being this way, really. I understand these things take time, things happen, people/systems aren’t perfect.. but good lordy. At least throw me a bone and give me one straight up answer instead of hemming and hawing. I’m also quite fond of their ‘dropped call’ trick. If they don’t have an answer or you become a little bitchy.. bam.. you’re suddenly thrown back to the main menu or disconnected altogether. Loves it.

So I guess for now I wait.. and wait.. and pray that one of these days I won’t be paying for two home phone lines. The future savings will be great.. but at what cost?? My sanity may not be worth the unlimited long distance and all that jazz.

Kiddo Randomness

Two year olds crack me up. Aub is such a sponge lately, to the point where I should probably cease the constant cussing, but damn.. that’s f-ing hard!! lol

Just a few memories for my own records…

  • We have this little (miniature, not the big statue kind) garden gnome that I bought for shits & giggles, well she loves it. She insisted on taking the ‘nooom’ to bed the other night. She tucked him in and said “nigh nigh nooom, nigh nigh!”.
  • She brought a toy to me today and when I asked her what it was she gave me an odd look and said “I don’t know!”
  • Everytime we go to the car she has to stop and look for ants, and then waves to them all and says “Hi boogs (bugs), HI!”
  • She knows that you give dogs bones and make them say “Speak!” thanks to her Scamps toy. So while in the commissary today she picked up a scooby snack graham cracker and yelled out a loud “speak!” before she ate it.
  • She’s loving ‘Monsters INC.’ and we have to watch it everyday, and pretend to be scared of the “Monsers” at the beginning of the movie.
  • She classifies all sorts of things as either “nice”, “pretty” or “ewww”. Raw meat at the grocery store = ewww, painted toe nails = pretty, baby brother = nice, catching daddy nakie after his shower = “EWWW”. The last one cracked me up the most. I totally agree. lol

I could go on and on as she’s a chatterbox now. We’re constantly looking at eachother and asking “Where’d she get that word?!”.

Will is also growing like a weed and learning so much.

  • He’s eating ‘people food’ (lol) like a champ. I think we tried baby foods maybe three or four times, and that was it. He’d prefer everything we eat. He’ll watch Aubree and then copy her, it’s great. She never wanted to eat, and he’s totally opposite.
  • He loves his daddy and says “dadadada” every time Dad comes into the room. I’m a little jealous.
  • He’ll stand for a few seconds on hiw own but has yet to take any successful steps – thank god!! I’m not ready for walking yet.
  • He loves to put his paci in our mouths, food or his sippy. Icky. I don’t want his baby slobbers on me.. lol
  • He is nearly off the bottle – loves the sippy cups! yay!
  • He totally grasps the word “No”, but couldn’t care less what I think. He’s into everything, all.of.the.time!
  • He thinks that biting me is a great new game. He’ll grab my arm and chomp down (and he has a ton of teeth!!), it hurts like a bitch but it’s funny. I’ll fake scream and he cracks up laughing every time. oi. The things I’ll put up with for baby entertainment.

Things are getting better with the cling-on, velcro like behavior, to that’s good! I was about to lose my damn mind. heh It’s hard to believe we’ll be seriously planning his little birthday soon. yikes.

And because getting a photo of them together is rare …

Aubree & Will

real men have purple paci’s! ;)

…and that’s what it’s all about!

Amazing how entertaining the hokey pokey can be to a 10 month old. That boy would have had me dancing around with him all day if he could. I wish I could do that but there’s always so much to be done. Today was carpet cleaning day and boy.. that was a job with them both running around in my way. But woot for non-funky, stain free carpet!
As for other things, I’m not blogging much but I’m around. Life is peachy. I’m just not feeling particularly ‘bloggy’ lately and suffering from a bit of Internet induced disenchantment. If that’s even the word for it. I don’t know how to explain it and I won’t try. What I will do is get back to life and leave this be for the moment. Until I do decide what it is I’m feeling.

What’s your ‘jam’?

Leave me a list of your favorite tunes!

Anything.. I’m looking for download ideas for my iPod. :)

Never make eye contact…

that’s one lesson learned. I can do just about anything around here for 10-15 minutes without a midget hanging off my leg, but once eye contact has been made, it’s all over. Why that is, I have no clue. It’s like they see my eyes as a welcome sign to jump all over me.

Another thing I learned today.. Aubree knows what a goat is. She has a stuffed one in her toy box, and though I’ve rarely mentioned that he’s a goat, she knows. She proudly pulled him out today and say “Goat!”. How cool is that? She also says “Fry”.. uh.. yeah. I wish she didn’t know that one but unfortunately she lived through my pregnancy with Will and fries were on the menu..often. It as if she has been storing these words all this time and just decided to finally unleash them.

As for the rest of my exciting life …

It’s raining again. Like that’s new. I totally forgot what weather was like while living in San Diego. Though precipitation is quite normal, it really throws me for a loop sometimes. I get so sick of it. Especially when I need to run out for groceries this afternoon. Yet again. That’s another thing I grow tired of. I feel as if we’re always needing something. Maybe that’s just the way it goes with kids. They always need something from the store. Aubree has her favorite meals and if we don’t supply them, she’ll go on a hunger strike. So I’ll need to grab some uber nutritious mac n cheese. blech. Then there’s the husband that I’m expected to care for. I never know what to make anymore as I’m so limited. I don’t eat meat for the most part so main dishes are always a question. I’ll go in hoping to figure it all out while I’m there and come out with a bunch of side dishes and produce. Produce that I never intended on. Aubree has a new habit of throwing all kinds of crap in the cart. Last time I came home with 6 green peppers and about a dozen lemons. She soooo needs to get a job! *sighs*

Happy 4th, All!

Nada going on here. It’s nearly 100 friggin degrees out, so I’ll be keeping my happy ass indoors with the AC. I hope you all have a lovely evening, and catch some fireworks. We’ll be skipping them this year as Will is a bear if he’s not in bed by 7:30pm. He’s a party pooper. Oh well! :)

ETA: a few new pics on Flickr. I’ve weeded my contact list a bit though and changed privacy settings. Nothing personal. I just want more privacy when it comes to my kids’ photos.
