Our weekend was relaxing but filled with rearranging of furniture. We moved Will’s crib into our room and he’s loving it. I had originally planned on him sleeping in the kids’ room, but he’s such a doll that I figured we may as well keep him and let Aubree keep the room to herself for now. Our bedroom is enormous so it’s almost like he has his own little room within ours. All we had to do was relocate my computer (to the living area) and I’m thrilled with that. I can now be online or whatever while the kids are playing. This is great!
As for Will.. he rocks. He hasn’t fussed about his new sleeping arrangement at all. Such a good bubba!
Granny flew home yesterday and I’m sort of bummed. Now it’s back to the same old stuff. blah. I really need to get back on track though. I can’t seem to bust out the workout tapes when we have company, so I didn’t do a darn thing all last week. I have a new walk/jog tape w/ Leslie Sansone that I want to try. Ooh and I bought a couple of hand weights as well. I think I lost my WATP ball weights during our last move.
But that will start tomorrow. I’m spending my Sunday on my bum. I’ll probably play diner dash 2 here on the computer until I beat it and then maybe work on streaking myself up with self tanner. I have this goal to be tan, blonde and have very white teeth for some oddball reason. Tan makes chub look so much better!
The girly girl is two now! Wow. We had a lovely evening filled with cake, ice cream, balloons and gifts. I really think she had fun, though the whole ‘birthday’ thing wasn’t totally understood by her. She probably thought we were just spoiling her like any other day. lol She has changed so much in the past 6 months alone. I’m really excited about watching her grow/learn even more.
It’s hard to believe that we’ll be doing the boy’s first birthday in less than 4 months! He’s growing so quickly that it hurts some days. He has mastered crawling and is constantly on the go. He’s also getting pretty darn good at pulling himself up to stand against furniture. He managed to slip yesterday and whack his baby melon on a chair. But that’s what happens at this stage. Before we know it he’ll be wanting to stand without holding onto the furniture and then walking.. crazy. He’s doing most everything a month sooner than his sister did. It’s like having her as an example motivates him to get going.
I posted some birthday photos on Flickr and I’ll update the kids’ website on babyjellybeans.com when I get a chance. I’m so lacking time lately. I haven’t sent photos to the majority of our friends and family members in a good 3 months.
I wish I could manage my time better but those two little people will not have it. The blog entries I managed to do this morning were courtesy of Grandma. heh She let me sleep in also.. she rocks!
…
I hope all of you Mommy chicks have/had a sweet day of appreciation and love!
I wish I could make rounds and wish my fav mommies a great day.. but I’m in a rush.
We’ve had an excellent couple of days. My Grandma arrived yesterday and will be here through the week. We spent much of today doing ‘fishy’ things in honor of Aubree’s birthday week celebration. lol We bought her a fish tank last night and picked out fishies for it today. We also visited the local aquarium where she got very excited over the many fish she named “nemo”. She’s a nut. But we love her. She had so much fun. There’s just something about making her happy that makes me all squishy inside.
Tonight will be dinner out, just the man and I. The very first dinner sans children, away from our own dinner table in 8+ months. We have reservations at the Melting Pot. We’ve never been, so hopefully it’s yummy.
Anyway..gotta run! I’ll be back when I have more time I suppose. For now I’m enjoying the family, summer weather, and good times way too much to waste time on the computer.
ETA: Dinner was amazing.. very pricey, but so very good!! And the wine.. I’m so glad we bought the entire bottle. Mommy will be having a relaxing night with the rest of the bottle lol.. Yay for nights out!
If I waited until I had anything remotely interesting to blog about, I’d never write a darn thing in here. So here goes …
Boring, boring, boring. That is life these days. Everything has been so normal and dare I say, GOOD, that I cannot complain at all. Yay for that.
We’re gearing up for the big birthday in exactly 10 days. Yikes. What happened to that scrawny little baby girl I brought home?! Gifts are bought and I ordered her cake this morning. I was going to make it myself, but the one I wanted would have cost more in supplies alone than just buying one from the store. We decided on a Nemo cake or “momo” as Aubree insists. She’s suddenly into fish, nemo, and anything “swimmy, swimmy” (another one of her things..lol). We watch Finding Nemo every.single.day.. it sucks, but she loves it. So I’ll deal. We’re thinking of buying a small fish tank as well, but we’ll see how much that would be. I don’t want to go hog wild in the gift department though I know she’d go crazy to see real fishies every day.
I’ve also been working on getting rid of the baby stuff. Yikes. Sad, but it needs to be done! Craigslist has been awesome for that. I sold the Bumbo within hours and the Hop N Pop was gone nearly as quickly. I still need to pull out the exersaucer as well now that he’s too big for it. Will isn’t interested in the activity center type toys. Actually, he never was for the most part. He’d much rather be crawling and scooting around, playing with the big(ger) baby toys. He’s all about the Laugh and Learn House. They both go nuts for that thing. Then when my Grandma comes next week, she’ll be taking as much as she can pack when it comes to the outgrown clothing. She’ll then sell it when she does her flea markets. Gotta love that! I won’t be paying ebay a ton of money for listing. After the better items are sold, I’ll give the rest away on Freecycle or something.
I think our weekend project will be moving Will’s crib in here to our bedroom and taking down the co-sleeper. I’m just not comfortable with him moving into his room w/ his sister. He’s still waking up once during the night and if he’s anything like sissy, he’ll do it until around 14 months I imagine. They’ve both been so similar as far as habits go, it wouldn’t surprise me. It makes me wish we had a 3 bedroom, but we’re paying 1200 a month as it is for this place. I can’t see working another 300 on top of that for an extra room that we’d barely use. Aside from sleep, they’re not in their room anyway.
See.. told you I don’t have anything to write about. I bet people were way more interested when I had the drama going on. ha.. too bad. That train seems to be back on the tracks. There will be nothing to gawk at for now and hopefully ever again.
Wowie .. I checked my account and my next check will be over $30! That’s almost $60 for the year so far. It’s great getting that amount of money back on purchases I would have made anyway. Much of it was from kids clothes shopping from the past few months. Now I’ll have a little bit extra to throw into summer clothing. Way better than Upromise as it’s cash, it’s NOW and they always credit me. I’ve had so many purchases go without credit from Upromise.. buggers. Then the whole money for college thing sort of worries me as who knows if that company will be around in 16 yrs for my kids.
So yeah.. if you buy anything online, check it out! Tons of stores have rebates and it really adds up.
